Let’s start this by saying that none of these guys lost the game for their team, you can never put that on a kicker because kickers aren’t football players. There was a bunch of shit in each of these three games that could have avoided any of these situations and gotten these poor schneeby little dudes off the hook.

On the other hand, Gostkowski, Walsh, and Buffalo Guy all had a chance to tie or in the game and caught a bad case of the shanks at the wrong time. This leaves us with two seperate, but both interesting question to ask. Who hates themselves the most? And Whose fans hate them the most? I’ll give you a 1-10 on each of these for each guy, 1 being it’s no issue, 10 being it’s real bad.

In terms of Gostkowski hating himself, you would think this has to be pretty high. Not because he is mad he missed it, but because he is mad that this will probably have dangerous repercussions for his family.

I mean lets be real here, you miss an extra point in a game of this magnitude, during this weird revenge filled season, Bill Bilichick probably as some go after the things you love most, right? Like Bill kidnapped this dude’s mother the second this went wide just in case they ended up losing this by one, and I think that’s a fact. So Stephen has to be pretty fucking bummed he did that to his mom, but on the other hand he hasn’t missed a PAT in a decade so I’d say this is a 7.

In terms of the fans hating him, I’m kinda split. Patriots fans are probably convinced that if he makes that kick they win by 35, but they also would never admit that one of their own guys messed up. They honestly are probably convinced that this is all part of some sneaky Bilichick plan, so they aren’t too worried. I’ll say they’re only 4 out of 10 pissed at Gostkowski.

Blair Walsh:

This one has to suck for Walsh because it was right at the end. I mean there is no talking yourself out of the fact that you really fucked this one up. Gostkowski had three more quarters of football to blame instead of himself, but this was it for Walsh. He had everything going against him though. He was playing the game in -27 windchill, Richard Sherman almost clocked him on the last kick and was ready to do it again, and his dumbass holder apparently can’t even spin the laces away. He has one job! I would say Blair is pretty salty because of the time in the game this happened, but there was a lot of other shit going on here to blame it on. He’s at a 5.

Minnesota on the other had would freeze this dude alive if they could.

Like these people straight up have nothing but the Vikings. The T-Wolves, Twins, and Wild are all trash. This was it right here. They won the division, had the defending NFC Champions dead to rights and were already thinking about Arizona, and then Blair Walsh duck hooks one and it all disappears. If it wasn’t for this only being a wildcard game, I honestly think Blair Walsh would be dead or have moved to mexico. This is a hard 8.

Buffalo Guy:

I have tried not to use his name to this point because, Scott Norwood is that hated in Buffalo. It’s like Voldermort. You just can’t say his name or else people from upstate New York just explode. He himself can’t be to happy about this either. He pushed the kick to lose the Superbowl against their in state rivals. His entire life is now just this kick. I’m not sure anyone in the world knows him for anything but missing this kick. It was his career long on grass (not sure if that matters), and the holder messed up the laces thing (not sure if that matters either, but this kick is his whole life now. His own children probably call him “Wide Right Guy.” He’s at a 9, this ruined his life.

I don’t think Bills fans can even explain how bad this was. This kick sent them into such a downward spiral of doom that they lost the next three Superbowls too. Four in a row, and they all started with this fucking guy. They were so serious about wanting to kill him, they made a movie about it. He ruined Buffalo, or at least what was left to ruin. No one in sports history is hated has much as this dude. 10, no questions asked.
